The vibrant City of Delhi today is the result of its historic and cultural past, of its unique people who are warm and welcoming and encompass all into the city and enjoy the gifts that the newcomers bring in the form of culture language and religion. It is a city who is forgiving, who is not too proud to learn, that stands as a beacon in this world as an example of mankind harmoniously working and living together regardless of background. Delhi is all of this and more.

Delhi is strategically situated on the banks of the River Yamun in Northern India lying on the fertile agricultural flood plains surrounded by a mountainous ridge that peaks at 318mts. It has a population of approximately 18 million people and growing. It enjoys a tropical climate High in summer between April and October reaching 47°C and lows in the winter during January dropping to 6°C. It is easily accessed as the Indira Ghandi International Airport is minutes away and well connected by rail and road.

To know Delhi one has to know a little of its past, Delhi is believed to date back to the 6th century BC. It was the Delhi Sultanate who initially established Delhi, he understood that geographically Delhi was extremely well placed and could act as a trading post which he encouraged, trade flourished and as a result the city became politically, culturally and commercially strong.

It was the well respected Emperor Shahjahan of the Mughal Empire, who decided to build a walled city and this is where he claimed Delhi to be the capital of Mughal Empire who ruled from 1649 to 1857. It was the British East India Company who moved the capital to Calcutta in the 18th and 19th century, in 1911 George V moved it back again to Delhi. In 1920 under the guidance of the famous architect Edwin Luyten the new City was built to the south of the Old Walled city, in 1947 India gained its independence from British rule and the Houses of Parliament were housed in the New City.

Delhi is home to many educational institutions including Colleges, Schools and two Universities, the University of Delhi and the Jawaharlal Nehru University; scholars come from far and wide to study here due to the facilities and standard of education. Delhi has its own Symphony Orchestra and concerts are held all year round at the Kamani Auditorium.

Delhi is a dichotomy in its every fibre, it is old with new, tradition with invention, and classical music beside Hip Hop, Saris and Haute Couture, Samoosas and Macdonalds and to top this is one of the most historic capitals in the world. Two of its monuments- the Qutb Minar and Humayun's Tomb - have been declared World Heritage Sites, following the theme it is also one of the greenest capitals.

In amongst this wealth of culture and History beats a very strong commercial heart as this is a developing region and more and more Multi National Companies are setting up Offices here. Manufacturers are tempted by the huge consumer population and the skilled workforce, the combination of these ingredients has created a marked improvement in property prices which in turn offers great opportunities for the investor.

Making a trip to this part of the world would not be complete without visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra classified as one of the wonders of the world and the ultimate symbol of love, a relic of the royal Indian tradition. The Taj Mahal is surrounded by other interesting monuments such as Agra Fort, Sikandra and the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. Food will surround you wherever you go as it is a very important part for the citizen of Delhi and your choices are unlimited from fine dining perhaps at one of the Five Star Hotels in Delhi or something a little more traditional found in the open air restaurants found around the city.

At the end of your busy day it is wonderful to be able to retire to the magnificent Five Star Hotels in Delhi where you will be welcomed and comforted in supreme luxury, tranquillity and peace.
